--DH Billy Butler extended his streak of hitting in consecutive series to 107, a club record, with two hits Friday at Detroit. Butler, has hit safely in 20 consecutive games against the Tigers.
--2B Chris Getz replaced slumping INF Mike Aviles, who did not play Friday, at the top of the batting order and went 3-for-4 with a walk and scored a run. Getz's three hits matched Aviles' hit total for the season and hiked his average to .391.
--RHP Kyle Davies struggled in his second start, allowing four runs in the first inning and was pulled after 3 2/3 innings. He allowed five runs on six hits, five walks and a hit batter, plus three wild pitches He threw only 52 strikes in 90 pitches.
--RHP Nate Adcock threw 3 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing four hits, all singles, and did not permit two inherited runners to score. Adcock, a rookie Rule 5 draft pick from the Pirates, was pitching for the first time since the March 31 opener. He did not walk a batter.
--OF Lorenzo Cain, who was one of the last players cut in spring training, was placed on the Class AAA Omaha disabled list to start the season. Cain, who was one of four players acquired from the Brewers in the Zack Greinke trade, has a slight groin pull.
