MEDICAL WATCH:

1B-OF Mark Sweeney (strained right hamstring) was placed on the disabled list July 4.

2B Jeff Kent (lower back) left the game July 3 but was back in the lineup July 4.

SS Rafael Furcal (lower back tightness) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 6. He was expected to be activated May 23 but was sore that morning. He started a rehab assignment with Class AAA Las Vegas on June 30, and he felt discomfort in his back the next morning. He was examined in Los Angeles on July 2 and will have surgery on July 3 to have a disk in his lower back partially removed. He will miss at least eight more weeks, and that's a best-case scenario.

RHP Brad Penny (mild tendinitis and inflammation in right shoulder) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 15. His return date has been pushed back to late in the week before the All-Star break.

LF Juan Pierre (sprained left medial collateral ligament) went on the 15-day disabled list June 30. He will miss four to six weeks.

RHP Scott Proctor (sore right elbow) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 22.

RHP Hiroki Kuroda (sore right shoulder) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 13. He had an MRI on June 18 that showed tendinitis but nothing else.

OF Andruw Jones (torn cartilage in right knee) came off the disabled list July 4.

INF Nomar Garciaparra (strained right calf) was activated from the disabled list July 4.

RHP Jason Schmidt (right shoulder surgery in June 2007) opened the season on the 15-day disabled list and was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 20. He began a rehab assignment May 11. He was hit in the calf with a line drive during a rehab start on May 31, and the "new injury" extended his stay in the minors. He pitched for Class AAA Las Vegas on June 28.

C Gary Bennett (plantar fasciitis in left foot) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to May 19, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on June 25. He had a setback in mid-June and there was no timetable on his return.

INF Tony Abreu (sore right hip) opened the season on the 15-day disabled list, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on May 13. He had season-ending surgery May 28.

Watching Lee dismantle the mighty Yankee offense just like he did the Dodgers it's hard not to wonder "what if" it was the Dodgers that picked him up at the trade deadline. Would it be the Dodgers up 1-0 in the World Series? I say with absolute certainty YES IT WOULD HAVE!! That acquisition meant so much more than just adding a dom ...(more)

So our beloved Dodgers fell short of the prize again. A heartbreak for sure, as many of us have yearned so badly to see our Blue back in the World Series, but honestly I think we once again exceeded expectations and there is a ton of positives to take away from this year. Remember, if you take away Schmidt, Pierre, A.Jones salaries that we h ...(more)

Manny picked up the $20 million dollar option for 2010. Thank you Manny for deciding quickly so the Dodgers brass can move on to other pressing needs. I think, like all of us, he knew that he was not going to get $20 anywhere else and I think he may have a small chip on his shoulder about fading down the strech. He may play is ARSE off for a ...(more)

We have all been complaining at Colletti for not making the best offer for Lee and how the Phils got him for so cheap and look at how hes pitched for them. But once again it seems like our attention is focused on the wrong person, and we need to focus our pitchforks and torches at another culprit.
The latest news is that the D

After last night I can barely bring myself to write this. I've been doing my best all day to just not think about baseball. Not just the Dodgers, but baseball in general. I might skip watching tonight's game. I haven't made it final, but I think I might just skip it. I'm getting older and the stress these games are causing is just foolish ...(more)

I believe this team made it to the NLCS for the second straight year.

I believe this team is going to be competitive for the considerable future.

I believe that we got beat by a better team.

I believe if the above statement is true, I can live with the loss.

the game was over?!?!?!?! How do Dodger fans feel about that? He went into the clubhouse and was showering while the Phillies came back to win it. I would be irate. I am not trying to "troll" but how do the fans take that one?

Any dodger fans attending this game?  I am!!  I know that we blew it big time last night and that pretty much shattered our hopes and dreams of reliving that moment from 88' but if we pull a win out tomorrow night we will be flying back home to LA where anyhting is possible.  Not very likely but also still very possible.

Was Sherrill pitching that bad in the 8th that he had to bring in Broxton??  I understand wanting to give it to your closer, but let your set up man do his job!! By bringing in Broxton, he had to sit in the cold and wait for the top of the 9th.  Let him stay warm and throw in the pen.  That's why you got Sherrill!!!!  I have all the respect for Joe Torre, but I think he over ma ...(more)

It's really quite simple.... We have to find a way to beat the Phillies today. Cliff Lee is a great pitcher, but contrary to popular belief...he's a human being who isn't invincible. This team has the ability to hit any pitcher... Lee is no different.

Joe Torre is completeley to blame for the way the Dodgers have lost and the fact that the Pitching Staff is having so many problems. The worst part about the game (NLCS) was the TBS sports announcers.
