--C Jonathan Lucroy made his 2011 debut with the Brewers after missing the first 10 games while recovering from a broken finger. He doubled leading off the sixth inning to end Pittsburgh RHP Kevin Correia's no-hit bid, and the Brewers broke through for four runs that inning.
--1B Prince Fielder extended his hitting streak to six games Wednesday with a three-run homer in the sixth inning off Pittsburgh RHP Kevin Correia. Fielder is batting .545 (12-for-22) during the streak with three home runs and a 14 RBI.
--RHP Yovani Gallardo will start Saturday in Washington, giving him an extra day of rest between starts. Manager Ron Roenicke said pitching coach Rick Kranitz likes to give his starters an extra day whenever possible. A rainout Tuesday night in Pittsburgh allowed that luxury.
--RHP Marco Estrada will make his second start of the season as the rotation's No. 5 man Sunday in Washington. The Brewers have been using that spot only when necessary until RHP Zack Greinke (cracked rib) comes off the disabled list.
--The Brewers are 47-17 (.734) against the Pirates since 2007, the highest winning percentage by one team over a divisional opponent during that period.
BY THE NUMBERS
14 -- RBI for 1B Prince Fielder during his six-game hitting streak.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"We're winning now. I'm happy with just the overall team more so than this award. I'm able to contribute to the team. This year we're focused on winning, so I'm just happy with that." -- 1B Prince Fielder, named the NL Player of the Week for April 4-10.
