Right fielder Corey Hart was back in the Brewers' lineup Monday after two miserable days back in Milwaukee over the weekend.

Hart became ill Friday late Friday night after playing in the series opener against San Francisco. He was given IV fluids Saturday and sent back home, then received more fluids Sunday and sat on the bench as the Brewers completed their series against the Giants.

"I guess anytime you have four bags of fluid in you, it's not going too well," Hart said. "My wife was a little sick, but nothing like that. It was over the top. It was a bad two days."

The illness came at a particularly bad time for Hart, who had finally gotten hot after taking several weeks to recover from an oblique strain. He was 6-for-15 with four homers, including a three-homer game, in four games before becoming ill.

Brewers manager Ron Roenicke was prepared to give Hart another day off before he reported to Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati and said he felt better.

"He came in today wanting to play," manager Roenicke said.

Hart didn't last long in the oppressive heat in Cincy, however. After singling in his third at-bat in the fifth inning, a gassed Hart exited in favor of pinch-runner Nyjer Morgan.

Both of Roenicke's options to replace Hart in right field are left-handed hitters -- Morgan and veteran Mark Kotsay.
