So Rumor has it that pretty much all players are available on the pittsburg Pirates team and it seems to me that Freddy Sanchez would look real good at 2nd base for the minnesota Twins. I think the twins should try ...(more)

The All-Star Game voting results are in and once again there will be fans all over the league using forums such as this to protest that their guy was overlooked because of biased voting from the big markets or just the stupidity of the fan in general of voting in someone like Josh Hamilton.  The modern age has let people ...(more)

I gotta give props to a guy whose salary is a decimal point to the right compared to that of Joe Nathan (who pitches about 1/3 the innings of Blackburn). Nick Blackburn, a starting pitcher for the Minnesota T ...(more)

During the preseason I posted this same thought. I said that the Twins should be thinking about how to get Halladay early on because I figured the Jays would be out of the playoff picture by the All-Star Break. Well, the Jay's GM is ready to talk turkey and the Twins are one of the few teams without a true #1/stopper for a pitcher. Halladay ...(more)

When I watch Scott Baker pitch, I don't see a guy who was supposed to be the ace of our staff going into the season. I don't see a guy who's tough and gritty, willing to hang in there and get the tough outs. What I see frustrates the heck out of me. He seems to have that 4th grader type look of "Mommy help me!" I know he had a fe ...(more)

I know it's only June16th, but we've all been watching the unbelievable start of Joe Mauer and my question is can it last? I know there are hills and valleys in a season, good and bad stretches etc, but can Joe hit .400 for the season? Is it possible? Ted Williams was the last to do it. Rod Carew was the last to come close in lik ...(more)

I posted this the other day on an article board.  Parentheses are current stats.  Everything else still holds true...

The Twins are 0-5 (now 0-6 with tomorrow attempt number 7) this year when trying to get to 2 games over .500 and 6-12 (7-12) in games they entered at exactly .500.  If this team is serious about get

When did Liriano forget to pitch?  He looks terrible and has looked terrible all season.

He's a bum.  Send him down until he remembers how to pitch again.

Can we trade him and get anything of worth for him?

I mentioned about month ago how bad our relief pitching is; not much has changed, in fact I feel its only gotten worse. I dont know what the right approach to the relief pitching problem is, but I know that Gardy needs to clean house and do so soon. With the exception of a few pitchers, Gardy needs to call up or trade for some decent relief pitching and send down pitchers like Henn. In the ...(more)

I think most of us agree that Gardy maybe hasn't had the best year managing so far this season but following the FISA rules (Fairness in Savagery Act--copyright Dan Barreiro) the single best move he made today turned out to be the difference in the game.  He pinch-ran Tolbert for Buscher.  No chance Buscher scores on Punto's flare in the eighth but Tolbert got in with the game-winning ru ...(more)

Man, that was a huge loss to the Tigers today.  When it was Dickey versus Dolsi, I felt we would come out on top, but Dickey proves why there are only two knuckleballers in baseball today.  That hurts the momentum for what could have been a division-tieing series.

A little birdie says the Minnesota Twins are deep in the process of trying to sign Dominican Republic shortstop Miquel Sano, who is considered the top international prospect available this year. One problem: Major League Baseball hasn't yet approved Sano's eligibility or been able to confirm his alleged age of 16. "So it's buyer bew ...(more)

As long as I can remember, the Yankees have been our nemius on the road.
Looks like now they are starting to get comfortable in the dome.
Anyway take heart Twin fans, still a half of a season to get ready for facing them in the post!
