Roster Report

Though early, Mets get huge victory · Notes, Quotes · Roster Report

--RHP Jason Isringhausen (twinge in back) left a minor league game April 2 after 10 pitches. He is rehabbing in Florida. The Mets said there was no issue and he's fine to pitch, continuing on the 15-day plan the team set out for him in extended spring training. After the 15 days, the Mets will decide whether to promote him or let him loose.

--LF Jason Bay (left rib-cage muscle strain) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 25. He hopes to play April 9, the first day he is eligible, but Mets general manager Sandy Alderson said he didn't expect that Bay would be ready at that time. Bay is playing catch, but with some soreness still, he has yet to begin swinging a bat.

--C Ronny Paulino (anemia) is likely to land on the disabled list after his suspension ends. He was already scheduled to miss the first eight games of the season to complete a suspension for violating baseball's policy against performance-enhancing drugs.

--LHP Johan Santana (left shoulder surgery in September 2010) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to March 22. He had begun throwing in spring training, but he likely will miss at least the first half of the season.
