In 2008.. Hamels dominated in the postseason with his fastball and changeup...
in 2009, he tried to use the curveball more...and when he did and he was ahead.. he got crushed... can they detect his curveball on his release??? whatever it was, he lost confidence with it.. as he surrendered a homerun to Ethier in the NLCS and than the GR double to Swisher his first real hit of the game on

I love this signing, its an under the radar move and wont pay dividends till late in games and late in the year... but with him on the bench with pop and also his incredible range...to be a defensive replacement for Ibanez.... he and Vic can cover plenty of space and rob a bunch of doubles hit in the power alley at the Bank.
Werth becomes our worst Defensive OF late in games and thats a

I understand the season is over and what not but why is it so dead on the board. Winter meetings are coming up shortly and theres gotta be some stuff to talk about or discuss....come on someone...or at least post on some of the threads already started. I guess bc i'm not a huge fan of the NFL/NBA/HOCKEY so i'm always looking forward to baseball. My only other sport is College Bas

It's going to be an interesting offseason for the Phillies. How do we improve upon a team that won the WS 2 years ago and fell just 2 wins short of repeating? I think Ruben Amaro has an incredibly tough task ahead of him this winter. The FA class this year is very unappealing. Matt Holliday and Jason Bay are the top to FAs, and neither is a

First, Kyle Drabek can and should be the fifth starter. We have Lee, Hamels, Blanton & Happ. You also have Moyer (I have no problem not bringing him back) This is a great rotation.
Second, the bullpen has to be Park, Romero, Madson & Lidge. The free agent pick ups should be either Mike Gonzalez or R

Ok first off Pedro's agent came out and said that Pedro wants to pitch another year, stating that the playoff run rejuvenated him and he wants another shot at a world series. His agent also went on to say that in the WS he had a touch of the Flu bug...now lets (wether it is or isn't) say thats true, would we want another year of Pedro if he is completely healthy....now remember the key pa

Juan Castro...37 yr old...signed a minor league deal with the Dodger last yr and ended up playing most of the season w/ their big league club last yr. Hes seen as the replacement for Bruntlett. So far looks as tho the deal is done pending a physical. In 15 major league seasons hes a career .230 hitter. I dont know much about him besides what i have read and it seems as i

Needs:
3B, two Back of Bullpen pitchers and one starter.... and a couple of good bats/a utility guy on the bench, backup catcher
I thought Gonzo had a great BP analysis on who's available and for what...
3B - Beltre or Mora or Crede?
will they bring up Taylor or Brown if Ibanez is slow to recover?
will they trade for Halladay this

Apparently his great defense isn't enough to overcome his poor offensive postseason and the Phillies seem to be moving on. I would assume they'll bring in one of the available free agents Chone Figgins, Adrian
