MEDICAL WATCH:

RHP Matt Capps (right shoulder bursitis) was placed on the 15-day disabled list on July 2 and is expected to miss two months.

CF Nate McLouth (sore left knee) was scratched from the June 30 game. He returned to action July 1, then was held out again on July 4.

RHP Denny Bautista (bruised right forearm) left the June 27 game and didn't pitch June 28-30. He returned to action July 1.

RHP Ian Snell (right elbow inflammation) went on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to June 24. He threw off the mound July 2 for the first time since being sidelined, and he is expected to return for a July 9 start against Houston.

LHP Phil Dumatrait (bursitis in left shoulder) went on the 15-day disabled list June 22. An MRI showed no major problems, and he could return as soon as he is eligible. He threw off a mound for the first time since the injury July 1.

OF Chris Duffy (left shoulder surgery in August 2007) opened the season on the 15-day disabled list, and he was transferred to the 60-day DL on June 22. He began a rehabilitation assignment with Class AA Altoona on June 15, then was optioned to Altoona on July 3.
