This has to be one of my favorite posts of the year so far, and I couldn't agree more with everything said in this post. Don't forget that we were actively trying to trade Peavy, Kouz and Giles before we decided that other teams wouldn't give us enough crap players. Hopefully next year we can get our whole AAA team up and just change our names to the Beavers. The sad fact of the matter is that we

Welcome to the San Diego Padres -- the AAAA minor league affiliate to every MLB team.
The AAAA Padres’ mission is to sit lethargically between Major League teams and their respective AAA affiliates. Intelligent GMs from these Major League teams look to the AAAA Padres to fill whatever n

Its simple. Defense and pitching win championships. Offense wins all star games. There is no way a guy hitting .220 should be voted into the all star game. Now there are two : Soriano and Rollins. I would feel OK with Rollins at SS because he is great defensively and that's the one defensive position, other than pitcher and catcher, that can control the game. Its not a popularity contest any

PETA is threatening to sue the Padres for getting rid of the bees in left field that delayed their game for 52 minutes.
REALLY, PETA?!? You can't find anything better to do than whine about a swarm of bees that were "mistreated"? People have allergies to bees, and when they pose a legitimate threat to humans,

Great outings in succession from Correia, Gaudin, and now Banks. Way to go Padres. Heath Bell continues to shut down and close games. I see a resurgence for the Padres when CY and then Peavy are ready to take the field.

Its time for the successful arms in the minor league system to get their shot...
Mat Latos, Cesar Ramos, Josh Banks, Ernesto Frieri...screw it, even Will Inman. Put them in the rot

I have to question whether Kevin Towers even considered what life would be like without Jake, back when all the Peavy trade rumors were swirling. Now we all know and it's not a pretty picture. And with CY also on the DL, the team is now faced with throwing another not ready for prime time pitcher to the hill most every day. I'm glad to see Correia apparently finding his form. As a

I must say, Ted Leitner is absolutely exhausting to listen to. He is SO obnoxious. Seriously Ted, you are not 1/10th as funny as you think you are. Tone it down about 5 notches and stop laughing your way through half the broadcast. Poor Andy Mazur had no idea what he was getting into when he came on board with the Pads.

The dude has really stepped up. From what was expected from the #5 spot has become the ace by default. Good for Kevin. A nice win vs the Mariners.

Anyone hear any word on his status? Should I continue to expect to see him on the mound before the end of the year? Is it going to be before or after the all-star break?
P.S. Props to Kevin Correia to his great job yesterday. Keep it going kid.

After about 30 innings, the Padres offense woke up and did some scoring. Bad news? Offense could still only generate 3 runs, wasting a decent pitching outing from Gaudin. But Floyd and Venable get to see an AB each so there was a little treat I guess. And a pinch hitting performance by Giles. Please, please, be merciful with the laught

When Brian Giles is eventually back from the DL, what SHOULD the Padres do with him?

Wow the Padres signed old b-law to a minor league deal. I actually used to love the guy back at the Q. On the bad side of the story... boy are the padres terrible right now, that we have to sign him again. Great win agianst the M's today. Was my first game of the year. Go Pads!

21 innings of scoreless baseball, 29 innings of baseball with only one run scored. Big numbers, but certainly not the numbers we'd like to have from our Padres. Kevin Correia pitched well enough for a win on most any night, but giving up 2 runs is
