--SS Jason Bartlett missed a third straight game Tuesday with a sore back. He is expected to return to the lineup Wednesday afternoon.
--LHP Cory Luebke got tagged for all six of the runs scored by the Reds in the 11th inning Tuesday night after retiring the first two hitters he faced.
BY THE NUMBERS
.213 -- Padres' batting average with runners in scoring position after 10 games.
QUOTE TO NOTE
"You just have to keep pushing through. Baseball is like this sometimes. (Tuesday), unfortunately, was not a good day for me. Sometimes you just need one or two hits to get everyone going." -- 3B Chase Headley, who was 0-for-3 Tuesday night in RISP situations with less than two out.
