Before Cincinnati pushed across six runs with two out in the top of the 11th Tuesday night, the Padres stranded five runners at second with less than two out over the previous three innings.
For the game, the Padres were 1-for-11 in RISP situations and 0-for-6 in RISP situations with less than two out. The Padres are now hitting .213 on the season with runners in scoring position and .195 with runners in scoring position and less than two out.
In the eighth, the Padres got one run (on an infield grounder) after having runners on second and third and no one out.
In the ninth, they didn't score after having a runner on second and no one out and loading the bases with two out.
And in the 10th, they failed to score after again loading the bases, this time with one out.
"We didn't get the hit when we needed to and they did," said Padres manager Bud Black.
