At least one person still believes in the 19-30 Padres.
Padres CEO Jeff Moorad said Tuesday that the 2011 Padres "probably have more talent" than the team that won 90 games last season.
"This club is still trying to find its footing," Moorad said before the Padres lost a season-worst fifth straight game.
"It is still May. I remain confident that we'll find the right mix of talent, chemistry and leadership. The secret is achieving the right mix of the three.
"We'll get it right. I have great faith in Buddy (Black, the manager) to lead them there. I think he will. If it were easy, everyone would be doing it."
The Padres are 1-6 on the homestand that ends Wednesday afternoon and are a major league worst 8-20 at home this season.
