--LHP Erik Bedard made his first start in 20 months Monday at Texas. Bedard, who last appeared in a big league game on July 25, 2009, has had three shoulder surgeries in the last three seasons. --LF Milton Bradley had three hits and pushed his batting average to .353. He had a hustle double that led to a run in the eighth inning.
--RHP Michael Pineda makes his first big-league start Tuesday in Texas. He jumped from Class AA West Tenn to Class AAA Tacoma last year, then made the team with a big spring this year. He will be the third Seattle rookie pitcher to debut in three days, RHP Josh Lueke and RHP Tom Wilhelmsen, who made their bows Sunday in Oakland.
--1B Justin Smoak, who had two more hits Monday, has hit in every game this year. Dating back to the 2010 season, he's hit in 14 consecutive games.
