--RHP Doug Fister pitched eight innings for the second consecutive start Thursday, this time giving the Angels one run. But as was the case on May 13 in Cleveland when he allowed the Indians two runs, Fister wound up getting no decision. For his career, he's 1-0 with a 2.02 ERA against the Angels.
--DH Jack Cust's infield hit in the ninth inning Thursday gave him hits in 15 of his last 18 games. Overall, he has reached base with a hit or a walk in 35 of his 38 games this season, but he has yet to hit a home run.
--3B Chone Figgins has hit safely in 15 of his last 18 games, the last five in succession. He's averaged .293 over that stretch to rise his average to .224.
--LF Carlos Peguero collected the first walk-off hit of his career in the ninth inning when the Angels' Torii Hunter lost his fly ball in the sun. Hunter robbed Peguero of a double or triple with a spectacular catch at the wall in the previous at-bat.
--RHP David Pauley is having a nice May. He's won twice, his first two victories in relief, and has a hold while allowing only one run in eight innings.
--CF Franklin Gutierrez (irritable bowel syndrome) was on the bench Thursday after getting his first start of the season Wednesday night. Manager Eric Wedge said he didn't want to have Gutierrez have to come back for a 12:40 p.m. start after a night game as the outfielder rebuilds his strength.
