--CF Aaron Rowand had three hits and two RBI, his second straight multiple-hit game. He hit just .225 in June after a .343 May but seems to have regained his groove. He has five hits in two games.
--INF Travis Denker had one at-bat against his former team. Denker, acquired from the Dodgers last summer in the trade that sent 1B Mark Sweeney to L.A., grounded out as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning.
--LHP Jonathan Sanchez was heading for his ninth victory and seventh in eight starts. He exited after five innings leading 5-3, but the Dodgers rallied as the bullpen and defense crumbled. It's partly Sanchez's fault. He was not efficient and threw 110 pitches, prompting a premature exit.
--LHP Barry Zito hasn't won consecutive starts this year. For that matter, he hasn't won two of three starts. He could do that if he beats the Dodgers Saturday. Zito won at Cleveland on June 25 but lost to the Cubs June 30. Now he'll bring his 3-12 record against the Dodgers, the team he faced in his season debut, his first loss.
--Pitching coach Dave Righetti was acknowledged for the 25th anniversary of his Fourth of July no-hitter against Boston in 1983. The stadium scoreboard showed highlights of Rags' no-no, from his Yankee days.
BY THE NUMBERS 8-0 -- RHP Tim Lincecum's record in starts after Giants losses, through June 30.
QUOTE TO NOTE "It was everything I thought it would be, except for not throwing strike one (to my first hitter). I always imagined I'd paint it." -- Reliever Sergio Romo, who made his big-league debut in Cleveland and threw a perfect inning.

I was looking at the Giants hitters and stats. In order to compete for the West this season I think we're going to have to do a lot of platooning and position shuffling. Based on my conclusions of the stats here is what I believe our lineup should look like and the type of production I think we will get.&

I like winning early. I like that the team is winning spring games. I like that there are lots of guys contributing, at the plate, in the field, and on the mound. I like that we have many veterans and are committed to them but that there are many young players making impressive contributions. If someone falls and can't get back on his feet, we have depth now in our youth who can step up and delive

Hello, Giants' fans! Welcome to another season. How's your team shaping up. I'm curious as to who you all think is going to lead off for the Giants this year, or who you think should be leading off. I see a lot of talk, etc., about Aaron Rowand leading off. If t

Elijah Dukes was mysteriously released by the Washington Nationals today. Early on he supposed to be their stating right fielder, but I guess things went sour. The Nationals, and Manager Jim Riggleman, insist that it was a "playing" decision and had nothi

Imagine you were responsible to select a starting rotation and staff for the Giants throughout history. Who would you select? Who would be your back ups?
The rules are simple, the pitcher must have pitched 1000 innings for the Giants at any time in their history (all the way back to 1883)
I am looking for some good competetive players to join my platinum fantasy league. 99 bucks entry and winning the league gets you 600. Draft will be on April 5th at 10 pm ET. There will be plenty of sh*t talking and we want to have guys that are involved in the league. If you wanna do it join my league.
In retaliation for Prince Fielders "Any Given Sunday" Bowling antics from last years extra innings loss to the BrewersBarry Zito "settled the score" by plunking the 250+ puonds of relaxed muscle that is

Did anyone else see Barry Zito bean Prince Fielder yesterday? It was some get back for the Brewers doing that celebration on the walk off last year (in a series they lost might I add). Hopeful

The last several days I've been missing posts from Giants fans, presumably because there's nothing much to discuss right now. So I've been passing some time on a site I'm sure many of you in the Bay Area frequent as well. The Cox Sportsnet Bay Area site, http://www.csnbayarea.com/ , wh

Freddy Sanchez is hurt and may not make Spring Training for our Giants. As crazy as this sounds I think it is a good thing. Look someone out of our lineup has to sit so the Giants to have some semblance of a balanced everyday lineup. If they are hell bent on letting
