Wilson dominates for his first save · Roster Report · Notes, Quotes

--1B Brandon Belt in right field? Believe it. Manager Bruce Bochy said it's a possibility. Furthermore, it could happen within the next few days. It's a move with the defense in mind. With Pat Burrell in left and Aubrey Huff in right, the corner outfield defense has been dreadful. If Belt goes to right, Huff would return to first. Belt has shagged in right field during batting practice the past two days.

--CF Andres Torres (mild strain, left Achilles' tendon strain) wasn't put on the DL. The Giants wanted to wait another day to determine Torres' fate. Torres is to take batting practice before Wednesday's game and remains confident he can avoid the DL. He could still be sent to the DL if he doesn't look right in batting practice, but his improvement the past two days is promising. If Torres is sent to the DL, the Giants likely would call up OF Darren Ford from Class AAA Fresno.

--C Buster Posey was 3-for-4 with two RBI, his best game of the homestand -- coming in; he was 1-for-11 in two home games against St. Louis and one against L.A. Posey also threw out Dodgers CF Matt Kemp, who was trying to steal third base. Kemp had been 7-for-7 in steal attempts, the most thefts in the majors.

--RHP Tim Lincecum, after 115 pitches, exited with the lead in the sixth inning but didn't get the win because LHP Jeremy Affeldt surrendered a game-tying homer to Marcus Thames in the seventh. Lincecum departed with the bases loaded and one out, and RHP Guillermo Mota bailed him out by retiring consecutive batters.

--CF Aaron Rowand tripled and scored on a wild pitch in the seventh inning, giving the Giants a 5-4 lead that stood up. Rowand went 2-for-4 and is hitting .346. He's playing because CF Andres Torres is shelved with a strained left Achilles' tendon. In fact, Rowand was in Torres' leadoff spot on Tuesday. He added an RBI single in the fifth.

2 -- Times Tim Lincecum drilled ex-teammate Juan Uribe with pitches this year. Once in the season opener, once in the sixth inning Tuesday. One day after receiving his World Series ring in an emotional on-field ceremony, Uribe didn't seem pleased he was hit by Lincecum for a second time. The plunking, which loaded the bases with one out, was Lincecum's final pitch.

"It's exciting. We got Wilson back. That's the Wilson we know." -- Pablo Sandoval, on closer Brian Wilson, who earned his first save of the season in his second attempt and third outing.
