The Giants have a host of decisions about what to do as players come off the disabled list this week, with Mark DeRosa and Andres Torres expected to be activated on Tuesday.

Cody Ross has suddenly perked up, driving in all three runs Sunday. Aaron Rowand has contributed. Pat Burrell and Nate Schierholtz also have picked up the pace, so it's unclear who will sit with Torres back in the outfield.

In the infield, it seems nearly impossible to dislodge Mike Fontenot from the shortstop spot, which Miguel Tejada had vacated to play third after Pablo Sandoval went on the disabled list.

Will DeRosa play third and will Tejada's playing time decrease? That seems unlikely, and DeRosa probably will return to more of a utility role.

"We're going to be crowded with some nice players," manager Bruce Bochy said Sunday. "It will be hard to get them all playing time."

In addition, Ryan Vogelsong might make it tough to take him out of the rotation when Barry Zito returns from a right foot sprain. Vogelsong allowed one hit Sunday in working 6 1/3 scoreless innings against Colorado.

Vogelsong is 2-0 in three starts filling in for Zito, and the Giants are 3-0 in those games. Opponents are batting .172 against the right-hander.
