Pujols on St. Louis: 'I'm way past that'

By Danny Knobler | Baseball Insider
NEW YORK -- Albert Pujols is off to a slow start with the Angels.

No home runs yet, in the first six games. Only five hits, and a .217 batting average.

Only two wins.

But when he was asked Friday morning if there's anything he misses about St. Louis, Pujols basically scoffed at the question.

"I'm way past that," he said. "I have a new family, new teammates."

Pujols' early number don't tell us much. In fact, he got off to a similar start last season with the Cardinals (.182, 1 home run and a 2-4 record through six games), and finished the year with 37 home runs, 99 RBI (in just 147 games), and a World Series title.

"It's just six games, guys," he said Friday.

It's just six games.

More than enough to put a decade in St. Louis behind him.
