White Sox put Humber on DL, will call up Axelrod for start.

Remember when Philip Humber threw a perfect game?

It's only been two months, but what an awful two months. He has just two wins and a 7.47 ERA in 10 starts since that great Saturday afternoon in Seattle, and now the White Sox have put him on the disabled list.

The Sox said that Humber has a right elbow flexor strain. They called up Brian Bruney from Triple-A Charlotte to take his spot on the roster. Dylan Axelrod will be called up to start in Humber's place on Saturday against the Brewers.

Humber joins John Danks on the White Sox disabled list. Danks has been out the last month with a torn muscle in his shoulder.

Axelrod appeared in three games for the White Sox in late April and early May, including one start against the Tigers in which he went 4 1/3 innings and allowed two runs. He is 5-4 with a 3.18 ERA in 11 starts for Charlotte.

The Sox also announced that Kosuke Fukudome, who had been on the DL, was activated and then designated for assignment.
