Mark Teixeira on Giancarlo Stanton's BP: 'I've never seen anything like it'

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- The star of the day at the first Team USA workout?

That's easy. The guy all the other players were watching take batting practice was Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton.

"I've never seen anything like it," Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira said. "I've played with a lot of guys headed for the Hall of Fame, but I've never seen anything like it."

Stanton launched home runs into the parking lot behind the back fields at Salt River Fields, the spring home of the Diamondbacks. At least one of the home runs threatened some cars parked far behind the fence.

"I think I was OK because my car is in Tampa," Teixeira said. "Although, with the right wind, he still might be able to hit it."
