Minnesota Twins look like sure pick to host 2014 All-Star Game

The Minnesota Twins, due for some good news, are all but certain to land the 2014 All-Star Game, sources said.

The Mets just announced this week that they will be hosting the 2013 game, but Minnesota's bid has been in the works awhile. While they've had a rough time on the field since last year, this will give the Twins a chance to show off beautiful Target Field, a major upgrade over the Homerdome. Target Field has won rave reviews, though some hitters haven't found it very friendly.

The Marlins are bidding to win the 2015 game, but sources suggest their bid isn't quite as certain as the Twins'. The issue for 2015 is that MLB alternates leagues. and some other NL teams with pretty new stadiums haven't hosted yet, including the Nationals and Reds. The Dodgers also are planning to update Dodger Stadium, and since they haven't hosted since 1980, they could be a candidate to host soon as well.
