Cubs talking to Rangers and 2 others about Garza deal but could keep him

The Cubs are discussing Matt Garza with the Rangers and two other teams, sources tell

The Cubs may also decide to keep Garza, who isn't a free agent until after the 2013 season.

The Rangers, who are seeking a starting pitcher after losing out on Zack Greinke, have tried for Garza before. The Reds are believed to have some interest, and the Jays have reportedly have talked to the Cubs, too.

Garza is a battle-tested, 28-year-old right-hander but any deal has hit a bit of bad timing because his most recent start was pushed back because of fluid buildup in his triceps.
