Red Sox, Angels in on Lohse

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Angels and Red Sox have emerged as two of the suitors for star free-agent pitcher Kyle Lohse.

Lohse, like Anibal Sanchez, is likely to wait for the market setter, Zack Greinke, to sign first. He'd should fit the Angels, who prefer to have ace Jered Weaver as their best-paid starter; Weaver has an $85-million, five-year deal.

The Red Sox have been concentrating on offense but also seek a starter. They found the price tad high on Anibal Sanchez.

Lohse went 16-3 with a 2.86 ERA for St. Louis this past season.
