Twins talking to A.J. Pierzynski about a return to Minnesota

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The Twins are looking into bringing A.J. Pierzynski back, according to people familiar with the situation.

With star Joe Mauer moving from catcher, Minneosta likes the idea of returning Pierzynski to his roots. It is believed they'd like to do it on a one-year basis.

Pierzynski played in Texas last year after signing for $7.5 million and one year. But long before that, he was the Twins' catcher.

The Twins have a deal with infielder Jason Bartlett, who -- like Piuerzynski -- once was a Twin.
