White Sox sign right-hander Tommy Hanson to minor-league deal

The White Sox have signed Tommy Hanson to a minor-league deal, sources said.

The deal will pay Hanson $1 million if he's in the majors.

Hanson, still only 27, failed to make the Rangers in spring training after suffering a rough season with the Angels last year. He had double-digit win totals four straight years in Atlanta to start his career before slipping the past couple of seasons.

He is 49-35 with a 3.80 ERA lifetime but was just 4-3 with a 5.42 in Anaheim after coming over in a trade for reliever Jordan Walden.
