Interested teams are starting to ask the Marlins about Casey McGehee, who's having a brilliant tunraround season in Miami.

The Mariners, in search of bats, are said to be among the interested teams.

McGehee is hitting .322 with 56 RBI after signing in Miami for $1.1 million following a year in Japan. While McGehee only has two home runs (including one hit Sunday) he's been pretty good protection behind Marlins star Giancarlo Stanton, who is not on the trading block.

Seattle has been seeking a right-handed bat and struggling to find the right fit. The M's have been looking mostly at outfielders, such as Alex Rios, Josh Willingham, Marlon Byrd and others, and also have been talking to the Rays about Ben Zobrist. McGehee is mostly a first baseman/third baseman but can play the outfield.

Seattle is under pressure to make a big move following trades by AL West rivals Oakland and the Los Angeles Angels. The Mariners have also been in touch with Tampa Bay about star pitcher David Price.
