The Cubs are trying to trade struggling starter Edwin Jackson, who has slipped badly this year and needs a change of scenery, at least.

Even the Yankees, an occasional pursuer of Jackson in the past, don't seem interested. So this might be a tough task.

Jackson, who is 5-10 with an unsightly 5.61 ERA, is due about $26 million through 2016 thanks to an $11 million salary this year and the next two years, as well.
