Dodgers star outfielder Matt Kemp and a trio of other Dodgers veterans cleared waivers and remain eligible to be traded to any team, but Hanley Ramirez has been claimed, sources said.

Ramirez most likely will just be blocked from being traded, though technically the claiming team has three days to work out a trade. The Dodgers obviously need Ramirez, their star shortstop, for their pennant push.

Kemp had been interested in a trade earlier, but the Dodgers look wise to hold him as he has gotten very hot. That he went unclaimed shows no team was willing to take the approximately $115 million remaining on his contract at this time -- not that the Dodgers would be interested in letting him go for nothing anyway.
