Who do the Pirates get next, Bob Gibson?

LOS ANGELES -- The Pittsburgh Pirates Aces tour continues.

The Buccos' first four starts this season includes three games against the trio who finished 1-2-3 in National League Cy Young voting in 2011.

They get Cy winner Clayton Kershaw in the Dodgers' home opener Tuesday afternoon after facing the Phillies' Roy Halladay (second in Cy voting) and Cliff Lee (third) over the weekend.

"It was on our to-do list over the winter," Pirates manager Clint Hurdle joked before Tuesday's series opener in LA.

Who's next, the Diamondbacks' Ian Kennedy, who was fourth in the voting?

Don't ask, he's due to face Pittsburgh on Tuesday in Arizona.

Include the Phillies' Vance Worley, who started Sunday's game for Philadelphia, and the Pirates are facing four opposing starting pitchers -- Halladay, Lee, Worley and Kershaw -- who combined to go 68-12 last season.

"Might as well get it out of the way early," Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen shrugged. "Like our manager tells us, we don't have to be the better team on a particular day. We just have to score one more run than them."

The Pirates won two of three against the Phillies without having held leads. Both wins were bottom-of-the-ninth comebacks.

"Good two innings," Hurdle said. "We scratched and clawed and we pitched very well."

Likes: The Beach Boys and Dodger Stadium, each celebrating a 50th anniversary. ... The Beach Boys delivered a lovely version of Surfer Girl during pre-game festivities, absolutely terrific. ... By the way, the best two Beach Boys songs, in order: Wouldn't It Be Nice and God Only Knows. ... Dee Gordon on base is becoming must-watch baseball. One of the game's most exciting players, already. ... Neftali Feliz (Texas) and Daniel Bard (Boston) each making his first start of the season on Tuesday night. ... Bonnie Raitt with a new disc, Slipstream. She's tremendous and, even better, Mavis Staples is the opening act for some dates on Raitt's tour this summer.

Dislikes: Hoo boy, Los Angeles traffic Tuesday morning getting to Dodger Stadium was ugly, ugly, ugly.

Rock 'n' Roll Lyric of the Day:

"The West Coast has the sunshine
"And the girls all get so tanned
"I dig a French bikini on Hawaii island
"I'm lost by a palm tree in the sand
"I been all around this great big world
"And I've seen all kinds of girls
"Yeah, but I couldn't wait to get back in the States
"Back to the cutest girls in the world"
