Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have battled through the media for the past year, flirting with the idea of a megafight at some point. McGregor, in the middle of a dispute with UFC after getting pulled off UFC 200, wanted to make it happen and Mayweather even helped stoke the flames.

The two eventually moved on, but the idea remains.

Now, McGregor has two UFC belts and the comparisons for his success are reaching, well, Mayweather levels.

Floyd was not amused.

"Never compare Conor McGregor to me, it's disrespect," Mayweather said. "I'm an elephant, elephant don't beef with ants. Elephant is so large, he don't even see ants."

The intriguing part of all of this is that the idea of a megafight between the two is being brought back up. While we know it won't go anywhere, I think the best thing these two could do is hold a press conference where they just lob insults at each other. It gives the fans what they want in an entertaining, almost reality show-style beef and gives the two a chance to air any grievances they have.

Or we could just settle this with a free-throw contest.
