UFC fighters have unionized in the form of the Professional Fighters Association.
The union released a statement on Thursday morning announcing its creation and mission to collectively bargain terms of employment with UFC.

The key point in the association's statement is the one noting what many fighters have said in recent years: They do not feel as though they get a fair shake in contract negotiations with UFC.
"The scales have been tipped in favor of the UFC for too long. It is time for the fighters -- the one's responsible for the UFC's success -- to receive their equal share," says the statement.
The Professional Fighters Association also states it has received support from the NFLPA, MLBPA, NHLPA and MLSPU in their creation and will be assisted by former agent Jeff Borris and labor attorney Lucas Middlebrook.
UFC has yet to release a statement regarding the formation of a fighter's union.
