Austin Dillon wins first Nationwide race but car fails post race inspection
SPARTA, Ky. - Austin Dillon's celebration for winning his first career Nationwide Series race Friday night at Kentucky Speedway was ruined when NASCAR announced his car failed post race inspection.
Dillon dominated Friday night's Feed the Children 300 at Kentucky and won by more than nine seconds over Kurt Busch to score his inaugural series win.
But moments after Dillon, grandfather and team owner Richard Childress and other members of his team left the infield media center for post race comments NASCAR announced the No. 3 Chevrolet failed its mandatory post race inspection.
The car was found to be too low in the rear and penalties are forthcoming.
Dillon had taken over the series point lead with his victory but will now certainly lose that spot in the standings. He holds a six point advantage over
