Video: Danica Patrick exits Daytona Nationwide race in hard crash
Danica Patrick had one of the best runs of her NASCAR career end in a hard crash when she exited Friday night's Nationwide Series Subway Jalapeno 250 at Daytona.
Patrick led much of the race's first half before getting caught in one of the night's many accidents. She was uninjured in the incident.
"I thought we were going to win tonight," Patrick said. "It kind of felt like the IndyCar days when you were close a couple of times. It's just frustrating when that's the case. What are you going to do? There was an accident happening in front of me, and the best thing that you can do is try and get around it."
Patrick still tried to take a positive away from her night that ultimately ended in a disappointing way.
"It's the best frustration that you can have," Patrick said. "You thought you were going to get to victory lane. That's the best frustration you can have. It's also the pinnacle of sad, too, because it could have been.
