It appears no Dale Earnhardt Jr., no problem.

Saturday night's telecast of the Bank of America 500 at Charlotte Motor Speedway generated the same rating as the 2011 edition of the race without NASCAR's most popular driver in the field.

ABC's live telecast of the the Sprint Cup race, the fifth of the 10 Chase events, earned a 3.2 rating, averaging 5,095,231 viewers, according to the Nielsen Company.

It was the third consecutive year that the race earned a 3.2 rating.

The television audience remained consistent despite Earnhardt Jr.'s absence as he recovers from a concussion. He's also scheduled to miss this weekend's race at Kansas.
