The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with former Bills safety George Wilson, the team announced Friday. Wilson was released by Buffalo earlier this month.

“George is a quality veteran player,” Titans general manager Ruston Webster said in a statement. “He will contribute for us on the field, but his contributions also will come off the field, in the locker room and in the meetings rooms. He was respected as a football player and a leader during his career in Buffalo, and he will bring that veteran presence to our team.”

Wilson started his career with the Lions as a wide receiver but was released and signed by Buffalo, where he transitioned to defense. He's been a team captain in each of the past five seasons. His best year statistically came in 2011, when he tallied a career high 104 tackles and four interceptions. He started all 16 games this past season for the Bills.

The Lions also reportedly were interested in Wilson.
