| Ken Berger's 2010 Slam Dunk Preview |
| By Ken Berger |
The dunk contest used to be the centerpiece of All-Star weekend. Now, it's just a sideshow. The stars don't dunk anymore, leaving us with two-time champion Nate Robinson (if healthy) against Gerald Wallace, Shannon Brown and the winner of Friday night's dunk-off between DeMar DeRozan and Eric Gordon. Yawn. My pick is Brown; that dude can really throw it down, as evidenced by the highlight video you can watch at letshannondunk.com. I want to start a web site, too: bringthestarsbacktothedunkcontest.com. Not gonna happen. For the second straight year, the D-League dunk contest on Friday night figures to be better than the real thing. |
