Along with Harden, players like Anthony Davis, DeMarcus Cousins, Greg Monroe, Kyrie Irving and John Wall reportedly are being considered. Davis and Harden have emerged as the two likely frontrunners for the extra slots though.
SI.com reported Wednesday that Davis was to be added to the preliminary player pool and if Harden is the other addition, that brings Team USA to 18, which is the magic number for it to hit.Harden, this season's likely Sixth Man of the Year, averaged 16.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists and shot 49.1 percent from the field, 39.0 percent on 3-pointers and 84.6 percent from the foul line — all career highs while scoring a career-high 40 points against the Phoenix Suns on April 18.
