Anthony Davis to likely make debut July 15th at Summer League: Complete schedule
Most folks only think about the regular season debut of rookies, but the truth is our first look at them running with what is near-NBA talent is at Summer League. In the case of Anthony Davis, though, you can bet he's going to be playing with a team that's worse than the one he left at Kentucky.
Regardless, the phenom, who in every conceivable likelihood will go No.1 in this month's NBA Draft to the New Orleans Hornets, will make his debut July 15th in Las Vegas' Summer League, provided the Hornets don't completely lose their minds between now and then. The NBA released the full schedule today:

Summer League has actually become an important event for many NBA teams and this year's rookies missed out on the development process due to the lockout. It's the first chance for teams to get familiar with assistant coaches, to meet teammates who are playing for the club, and to showcase what they can do outside of an NCAA floor. With the Kentucky Wildcats having an outside shot at six first-rounders this year, Davis pretty much played with an NBA team all year long in his championship freshman season (though they could not beat an NBA team, let's be clear).
We'll have continuing coverage of the 2012 NBA Summer League from Las Vegas, just as soon as, you know, we get through with the actual 2012 NBA season.
