Raptors officially extend offer sheet to Knicks F Landry Fields

Steve Nash isn't coming through that door, but at least somebody probably will be.

The Toronto Raptors officially extended an offer sheet to New York Knicks restricted free agent forward Landry Fields on Wednesday. The offer is reportedly for a 3-year contract worth $20 million.

The Raptors' goal reportedly was to use Fields to help entice Nash to sign in Toronto but he instead opted to agree to a sign-and-trade to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Knicks will have three days to decide whether or not to match Toronto's offer. They are not expected to do so and moved to officially re-sign free agent guard J.R. Smith on Wednesday.

Fields, 24, averaged 8.8 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists for the Knicks last season. He was a second-round pick out of Stanford in the 2010 NBA Draft.
