Video: 'The Other Dream Team' details the '92 Lithuanian national team

By Matt Moore | NBA writer

We tend to take our freedom for granted. Even that word, "freedom," has become something of a concept that's more about the word than what it means in our society. We're free to represent who we want, free to argue about what freedom means, free to represent ourselves as something other than that which the controlling government wishes us to be.

(I beg of you not to start the politial talk in the comments, it's not like any of us are short on places to find that discussion.)

But not everyone in the world has that. And in 1992, Lithuania entered the Olympic Games with the mission of celebrating their freedom in the first Olympics since their declaration of independence from the U.S.S.R. in 1990. It makes for a pretty good story.

It's a cool idea for a flick that was hidden against the backdrop of the Dream Team destroying everything that moved. And you see the results even today, as Lithuania pushed the United States as hard as it was ever pushed in the 2012 games.

So there's your Tuesday morning goosebumps.
