Blake out Tuesday for Lakers, day to day with abdomen strain

By Royce Young | NBA writer

Before it gets better for the Lakers, it's going to get a little worse.

Already missing Steve Nash, who has a fractured leg, the Lakers will be without their other point guard, Steve Blake, after announcing Monday he has an abdominal strain and will sit out Tuesday against the Spurs.

After that, Blake will be listed as day-to-day.

Without Blake or Nash, the Lakers will turn to second-year guard Darius Morris and veteran Chris Duhon.

Nash is still without a firm timetable to return, but the expectation is Blake will likely be back for the Lakers' Friday game against the Suns.

Blake, 32, is averaging 5.1 points and 3.4 assists in seven games this season.
