Eye on Basketball Podcast: Brooklyn Nets fire Avery Johnson

By Zach Harper | NBA writer

Hope you had a great holiday! The Eye on Basketball podcast is back after a brief hiatus. I'm joined by Matt Moore for news that Avery Johnson has been fired by the Brooklyn Nets. With Johnson out, where do the Nets go from here? Is Deron Williams responsible and worthy of the "coach killer" tag being thrown at him? Who should take over this team long-term?

We also break down the Christmas day games and a couple of games from Wednesday night. The Lakers looked a lot better before their blowout loss to the Nuggets. The Kevin Durant vs. LeBron James Christmas day showdown was as enjoyable as you could hope for. And the Clippers and Rockets are on really fun runs right now.

Then we preview Thursday night's action between the Clippers and Celtics. Good to be back!
