VIDEO: Lakers' Steve Nash records his 10,000th assist

Steve Nash's 10,000th assist came in pretty appropriate fashion -- in a pick-and-roll to a power forward.

Right before halftime Tuesday against the Rockets, Nash dished to a rolling Antawn Jamison for an easy layup that put him in elite company. Only five players ever have recorded 10,000 assists -- John Stockton, Jason Kidd, Mark Jackson, Magic Johnson and now Nash.

Nash, 38, is still almost 6,000 behind Stockton for the all-time lead, if you're wondering. Johnson had 10,141. Jackson had 10,334. Kidd has 11,969 and counting. And Stockton had 15,806.

Nash is in his 17th NBA season and and has played 1,161 games. He's won two MVPs, is an eight-time All-Star and now part of an exclusive point guard club.
