Rubio set to begin back-to-backs

By Matt Moore | NBA writer

Ricky Rubio has yet to play a back-to-back game since returning from an ACL injury earlier this month. He recently missed a road trip due to back spasms. But that's about to change.

After Rubio's eight-assist performance Tuesday night, CBSSports.com's Zach Harper reports that Rubio plans to play Wednesday in Oklahoma City.

It's a small step but an important one. The Wolves got a big win Tuesday vs. the Hawks, but without Kevin Love (out with a broken hand, again), they need all the help they can get. Rubio will have to fill some of that gap, just by making his teammates better.

Meanwhile, Love is scheduled to see a specialist in New York Wednesday, so we may get an estimate of when he'll return. Till then, at least the Wolves get their second-best player back full-time. And after all, that's what GM David Kahn really cares about, evidently.
