Being an NBA referee is a tough job. Fans hate you, coaches and players yell at you, and nobody notices you unless they think you're doing a bad job.
And that's before players start spiking shots right off your face.
In the first half of the Tuesday's game between the Thunder and Clippers, ref Derek Richardson found himself at the wrong spot at the wrong time. Serge Ibaka raised to fire a baseline jumper, but Caron Butler was all over it. He rejected Ibaka's shot -- right into Richardson's face.
All was good for Richardson as he popped right back up and continued on.
