Iverson wants NBA comeback but not one that starts in D-League

By Royce Young | NBA writer

As has been the case the past of couple years, Allen Iverson is interested in a comeback. Just not one that begins in the D-League.

The Mavericks' D-League affiliate offered Iverson a place to begin, but he has politely declined.

Iverson is 37 years old and hasn't played in the NBA for three years. His last game was Feb. 20, 2010, for the 76ers. That was his first comeback of sorts, and he lasted only three months with the Sixers.

He then took his game to Turkey to play for Besiktas and appeared in just three games before returning to the United States. He was then rumored for a D-League spot on the Lakers' affiliate, a spot in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic and other various places.

It's pretty obvious Iverson wants a path back to the NBA. The Mavericks offered him one. Evidently, Iverson is more interested in the straight shot back, something I don't really see him getting.
