VIDEO: Timberwolves' Ricky Rubio puts on a show against Hornets
Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio loves to put on a show for the crowd. If he can throw a behind-the-back pass instead of a regular two-handed pass, he'll usually do it. He just loves to put on a show and give the crowd a little something extra to get himself and his teammates going.
In the Wolves' 115-86 blowout victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Saturday night, Rubio had enough of a cushion on the scoreboard to try a couple of things when given the opportunity. The first highlight came off of a steal that turned into a quick 3-on-2 fast break. Rubio wrapped the behind-the-back dribble around his body before dishing it off to Nikola Pekovic for the score.
About a minute and a half later, Rubio stole the inbound pass following a 3-pointer by Andrei Kirilenko, waited for Dante Cunningham to be cleared for takeoff, and then tossed the lob for the monster alley-oop dunk.
It was Rubio's final highlight of the night in a nine-point, seven-assist effort in just 23 minutes of action.
