VIDEO: Nuggets' Kenneth Faried slams alley-oop over Dwight Howard

By Zach Harper | NBA writer

Denver Nuggets power forward Kenneth Faried is a chain reaction of energy and hustle on the basketball court. You can see it when there's a loose ball, when there is an open lane to the hoop, or when he's attacking the boards. He's currently ninth in the NBA in offensive rebounding rate at 13.3 percent, which is impressive for a 6-foot-8 forward.

Another way for him to get the ball is by catching alley-oops against a Los Angeles Lakers center who puts little effort into jumping to contest the lob, then turns around and blames Kobe Bryant for not dropping down to defend a pass he should have grabbed out of the air. Perhaps Dwight Howard could actually jump off the ground next time.

That's a sweet little set play by the Nuggets there. It probably won't work all that often, but you can catch a sleeping giant every once in a while with that execution. Pick-and-roll with the point guard and Faried, pass into the post for Andre Iguodala, and he throws the quick lob before a suspecting big man knows what's flying his way.

Faried finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
