Carmelo Anthony leaves game with injured right knee

By Royce Young | NBA writer

New York, hold your breath.

After tripping awkwardly Monday against the Cavaliers, Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony exited the game and will not return.

He has been diagnosed with a right knee injury. More tests will likely follow.

The injury came with 6:40 left in the second quarter, when Anthony tripped near halfcourt. No contact was involved.

Anthony missed a couple of games earlier in the season because of a hyperextended left knee.

Anthony, 28, is averaging 28.6 points and 6.3 rebounds.
