Duncan, Parker and Leonard all out against Timberwolves

By Royce Young | NBA writer

That Gregg Popovich is a quick learner. No fine necessary this time, Commissioner.

The Spurs announced that Tim Duncan (sore knee), Kawhi Leonard (sore knee) and Tony Parker (sprained ankle) will all be out against the Timberwolves on Tuesday night.

San Antonio is playing the second game of a back-to-back after trouncing the Thunder on Monday night.

Of course, the Spurs were fined $250,000 by the league when Popovich rested key players -- actually sending them home early -- against the Heat earlier in the year. Unlike this game, that one was on national TV and didn't include any kind of injury as a reason for them sitting.

This time around, Popovich isn't taking any chances. Parker's injury is certainly legit, as he's out for a few weeks because of a serious ankle sprain. Duncan has had knee troubles off and on for awhile, and who knows with Leonard? But at least a reason other than "he's tired" has been provided.

Also of note: Andrei Kirilenko and Nikola Pekovic are out for the Wolves. So yeah, get pumped for Wolves-Spurs on Tuesday night.
